No one would have remembered the last time, when Bollywood got such a response for five consecutive weeks. It's definitely a very rare moment for the industry. The chain started in the last week of June with the unexpectedly great opening of Double Dhamaal. It was dashed by most of the critics but it still continued a fair run. The movie garnered healthy collections becoming a profitable venture for the producers, who are now planning for a trilogy and is in its final days. After it's clear success, the first day and first week of July saw the release of Aamir Khan Production's Delhi Belly which tapped its targeted audience, youth, profoundingly with its local and friendly connect with the audience. In no time, the film gained
Not many days ago, this poll was posted on this website. It asked people to elect their choice for the most awaited movie of the second half of 2011. Since then it's been a tough competition for all the options but off lately, Bodyguard has taken over the lead with a great margin. Currently, Bodyguard's ruling with 55.17 %. The closest competitor is Ra.One with 24.14 %. The other vote gainers are Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Don 2 and Mausam with surprisingly equal votes, 6.9 %. The poll has still a week to go off the page. So you can still vote for your favorite over here. Make sure your choice wins.
Check out the not hilarious first look promo of Sanjay Dutt's new film, Chatur Singh Two Star. Announced as a non-sense comedy, the lifts from the Hollywood flick, Pink Panther are obviously noticeable. Being in the process since 2008, it goes without saying that this film will have a hard time at the box office due to its uninteresting outline and low graded treatment. Do check it out. It seems that Kareena Kapoor will soon be going through her best phase of life, as far as her career is concerned. With a series of biggies lined up in Bollywood for the coming time, most of them have Kareena Kapoor as the leading lady. For instance, the two of the most awaited movies of this year, Bodyguard (Eid) and Ra.One (Diwali), are in her kitty. Then, she's gonna star with Aamir Khan in Reema Kagti's The Act Of Murder (working title), early next year. Not every heroine gets a chance to star with the three leading Khans at the contemporary time. Moreover, all the three movies mentioned above are expected to be big money-spinners and if that's not enough then I heard recently that after the Aishwarya Rai - Madhur Bhandarkar fiasco over Madhur Bhandarkar's ambitious and hyped project, Heroine, he has once again decided to cast his innate choice, Kareena Kapoor. Further, if news are to believed then she has even agreed to the final script. Though the production house have sealed their lips for the time being, everybody is expecting this rumor to be true. Besides all this, she's gonna star with her beau, Saif Ali Khan in the much anticipated flick, Agent Vinod, later this year and also, she has Short Term Shaadi with Imran Khan under Dharma Production. Seriously, Kareena Kapoor's current status is blessed and it's superior to even some A-league male actors of Bollywood. Anyway, wish you all the luck, Kareena Kapoor. Hope all your movies prove to be a bigger hit than they are expected to be. ;-) Singham is a ritualized paisa vasool flick, obviously designed as per the whistles and claps. The absence of newness in the story, the slow paced manner in the midst, a bit unpersuasive climax and many more things confine Singham in making it out of ordinary but who cares really. Sometimes movies should be watched to just enjoy it. Ajay Devgn, Prakash Raj, some dramatic moments and action scenes guarantees you an entertaining watch, though a pretty long one. What is your view on it or on the review ? Check out the first song "I Love You" from Bodyguard. It's a tender song with marvelous vocals (Ash King, of "Te Amo" fame). Though Himesh Reshammiya has given music for the whole album, Pritam makes a guest composition with this. Do check out and comment. |
